WoW Db Linking

WoW Db Linking
On GGods, users can link to items in the WoW Db. In some cases, the name of the item will work. In other cases, you have to look up the item on WoW Db first to see its item #. I might rewrite the code to use the Thottbot db instead at a later date, but the method will still be the same. Here are two examples. You can type these into any text field on GGods (any Forum Post, Comment, Blog, etc), and they'll become links:

[item]Vengeance of the Illidari[/item]

[item]29171[/item]
n/a

Ooooo

This is a neat idea!

Neat adding the Vengeance of the Illidari as one of your references there. My priest got this trinket recently and macro'd to Smite. Holy crap, does it make a difference.

I'm Holy/Disc, and I'm like a mage that can heal. xD

Grats!

Yes, that is so true! My Priest is the same way. Those trinkets make a Huge difference, especially when properly macro'd. And my mage still uses [Vengeance of the Illidari], which makes my mage like a mage! Oh yeah... hehehe.

About the WoW Db, it should be lots of fun being able to link items directly here in discussions about them :)

Oh and here's what Earthwarden looks like as a link: [Earthwarden]

Yeah it will! I like how mousing over those links has the stat popup and the proper item color as well.

Nerf Priests

warriors are fine. buff rogues.

so could I add an item like that?
Yep!

That's the point. It allows anyone to use that tag to create item links. I'm thinking of writing some WoW Guides at some point. You're definitely welcome to write anything you want about WoW (or whatever) and use those links.
