You look like you've seen a ghost...
I am extremely interested in the supernatural and I want to hear about everyones' experiences with ghosts or anything else that would be considered paranormal.
Here's one of mine:
For about the past year, I've been frequently awakened by "something" in my room.
It started out shaking my bed...it felt as if a cat had jumped up on the bed, but when I looked, there were no cats in the room. (I have cats, but normally put them out of the room and close the door when I sleep). One night I felt a touch on my arm, and a different night, I felt my foot grabbed (that one scared me so much, I slept on the couch for a week afterwards). I've also heard a voice (male) that sounded like it was speaking in a low volume right next to my ear. I understood what it said one of the times.... It said "Pay attention".
There have been noises in the room, like a knock, on different pieces of furniture. Also at times when I've left my door open, one of my cats has awakened me by meowing while looking at the closed closet door. He's done that several times, and it has been right around 4:00AM every time.
I'm not sure what is causing all the "disturbance", but it doesn't feel to me like it has a malicious intent. I've thought about trying to communicate with it in some way, but I don't think I could ever sleep in there again if I got any kind of proof that it was some intelligent entity.

So many...
I've had so many experiences that it would be just too much to put here. I'll probably write some Blogs about my experiences at some point. From my intimate conversations with various people, I think nearly everyone has experiences that would be labeled paranormal, but they either choose to disbelieve (ie believe there "must be some other explanation"), or they are too afraid to speak up. In our modern society, as information becomes more readily available, people are realizing more every day that anything is possible. Quantum Physics literally tells us that: anything is possible at any moment, it's just that some things are a lot more likely than others. As a much wider variety of information becomes available to everyone, it is my hope that more people will come forward and speak up about their more amazing life experiences.
Lucky!
What so you've never had an intelligent entity in your bed before? :0 joku! joku!
You are lucky. The only intelligent entity haunting my apartment is me. I have no one to scare!!
More seriously though, there are a couple notes I would like to point out. One, you've had cats in your room before, even if you normally don't have them there, right? Most people consider them intelligent. Two, I think it isn't really that you are afraid of it being intelligent, it's a fear of the unknown. You think it even spoke to you...that would indicate some intelligence....that is a lot better than having some purely instinctual being in the room, like a wild animal.
There are so many possibilities here, and there's so little information so far.

I have had a lot of very strange little happenings I've seen throughout my life that stick with me, I couldn't list them all here, the most recent one sticking out being that everytime I wake up these days, I always see figures floating around me, plain as day.
It's not fading dreams either, it's my eyes seeing something there and it Leaves.
That said, I have no idea if it's intelligent or not, I've never interacted with it. However intelligent or not, it seems to be shy. ;)
I am not as big of a fan of ghost movies and such as some of the others here. Despite all the positive possibilities that can come from an intelligent spirit being with you, the thought of turning around and suddenly seeing figures behind me, doors closing spontaneously and lights going off gives me the creeps.
There's the benevolent spirits, but then there's the movie ghosts that want to do bad things to you.
*shudder*
I'll say to have gone through what you did in that room, Becca, I could not have done that alone. I'd need someone there to hide behind. 0_0
I'd love to hear more...
about these floating figures you're seeing, Drem! Making such a bold statement and not going into detail just makes me say, "What!?"
Figures
Well, they don't seem to have a definitive shape of any kind, basically, they are blobs of light and shadow. The other best way I can think to describe it, it's like waking up and seeing smoke wisp away across the room, but still maintain a definite shaped presence until it fades away.
This has been happening a lot lately. I only see it, it's not doing anything else. It hasn't spoken, or... at least from what I can tell, moved anything around or made any noise. It's not messing with doors or turning lights on and off, or I would be freaking out!
Last night, I saw ANOTHER strange thing. Both me and my sister saw this, but I didn't say what I saw -- she's very young and she would have been terrified.
We were standing outside late last night -- we'd just seen something interesting in the sky, it was nice outside, the moon was big and bright, and the sky was perfectly clear. While I was looking across the street, I saw at the house across from us (note, an unowned house, totally empty. The house hasn't been bought yet.) Know how someone walking across a strobe light or security light is a shadow for a split second? Well, this looked like the opposite and much slower. I saw a white human figure over there for about 4-5 seconds. It was in the house's backyard, walking inside the (chainlink!) fence. Jody said she thought she saw a flash and looked at me afterwards, I was still watching this...entity walk around. I told her "probably just a security lamp going off, animal or something" or she would have ran in screaming.
Logic might say it could have been someone walking around over there with a flashlight, but that's NOT what someone with a flashlight looks like. Unless the person with the flashlight is projecting their own light. That was the first time I'd ever seen something quite like that with my own eyes and not from a photo or video. The blobs I see when I wake up might be something easily explained, That figure? I don't think so...
Floaters
I'm 99% certain that the blobs of light and shadow you're seeing as you awaken are eye floaters, also known as floaties. This assumes that your latest description of them here is somewhat accurate. Be careful when you choose your wording, especially when you're talking about things that aren't obvious in most people's minds. You used the word "figures" to describe both human shapes and undefined blobs.
As far as the glowing human figure, that sounds very interesting. If I were there, I would have had to go over for a closer look. From that distance, it could have been anything. It could have even been something very interesting indeed.
I have one good eye
and one very nearsighted eye...and my good eye is full of floaties. D:
